The Kothanur CSI Church Choir considers it as a privilege to serve God through the Music Ministry!

Throughout the Kothanur Church history Choir has been an important factor in group-Worship, and in the proclamation of the Gospel. The Choir today has become vitally important to the work of the Church as well as setting an example to other city choirs in unity, discipline and quality.

The senior choir meets for the practice regularly every Saturday for 2 hours from 6.30 pm t0 8.30 pm. It has 35 strong voices with commitment and zeal - prioritizing God’s work above anything else.

Apart from rendering an Introit every Sunday, the choir observes the third Sunday of every month as “The Choir Sunday” in which it renders special numbers for the Glory of God. Every year, it organizes two major Concerts involving all the wings of our Church entitled “Calvary Melodies” and the “Carols by Candlelight”.

The junior choir meets regularly every first and third Sundays immediately after the service for 90 minutes. There are 25 young people who use their talents for the Glory of God. This immensely helps them to walk closer with God in this challenging world right from their childhood days.

By God’s grace our Church Choir had an opportunity to take part in the 250 voice mass choir with the Classic Hymns recently. The Kannada number “Yesusve Maathanadu” was a great blessing to many as it was rendered in the international platform by our choir.

On 11th December, our Church choir is presenting “The Carols by Candlelight” in which all the wings of our church, the Bangalore Men’s Ensemble, Laudant and the YUMMY are taking part. Besides, during the watch night service – 31st December 2022, a “Special Choir rendition” has been arranged from 11.00 pm – 11.25 pm.

The choir is thankful to our presbyter in charge Rev Jessie Ranjan, for her blessings and constant prayerful support. We also thank our assistant Pastor Rev Nancy, the Pastorate committee members and the congregation for their support and encouragement.
