Kothanur CSI Church
Kothanur CSI Church was established in 2002, with few congregation members and has since expanded to be nearly 300 families and about 800 communicant members.
Kothanur is a suburban located on Hennur-Bagalur Road coming under the Civil Area Council of the CSI Karnataka Central Diocese. It has seen a strong Christianpresence for several years with organizations like the Catholic Church and Korean pastors starting to establish their presence since early nineties.
The Logo comes with different aspects of Christian life and witness. Here is a brief description:
“You are the Light of the World & Salt of the Earth” is the message and commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Kothanur CSI Church has taken this message as an important responsibility of the church.
We have incorporated the colour Purple, which is the liturgical colour along with white. Purple symbolizes the royalty of Jesus Christ as He is the King of kings and is used in the Advent season. It is also the colour used during the penitential season of Lent as a vivid reminder of the contempt and scorn he endured, and the subsequent sacrifice he made for our salvation.
White is the colour of Purity and Completeness. Easter is supported by the use of white. Christ’s triumph from the grave on the Resurrection Day is the cause for our rejoicing. His purity before his Father becomes our purity. White reinforces that message of joy.
The Cross inside and outside (in the Logo) reminds us of the love and message of Christ to each one of us and the need to share the same within the church and outside in the world.
