MINISTRY AMONG WOMEN
A small group of Christians (CSI Members) living in Kothanur in 1998 sensed the need for a place of worship and began using the “Cathedral Family Helper Project,” a rented structure, for Sunday services. The same year, a small group of women (CSI) felt the need to meet as a women’s fellowship following the church service. Women’s Fellowship was established in 2006 and at first consisted of about 10 to 12 women who consistently visited the sick and prayed frequently for the Church Building, which had not yet been constructed.
Our Women’s Fellowship now has 31 members. President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, and two office bearers are included. Every month, on the first and third Saturdays, we have two meetings.
Our Women’s Fellowship has been expanding daily and has helped us attain a significant milestone by funding the woodwork in the altar, the motor pump, and the television.
Through individual testimonies, we are inspired and motivated to serve the Lord and thank God for His calling us as Women of God to serve God for His glory. Women’s Fellowship has always contributed to the growth of women both individually and as members, caring for each other, enjoying togetherness, helping in ties of difficulties, upholding in prayer, participating in Harvest Festival, and contributing towards outreach programme of our Church.

A glimpse on retreat cum trip to Mangalore (18 / 9 / - 21 / 9 /22)
After the Covid 19 pandemic, it was an outing that we (the Women’s Fellowship Members) had all eagerly anticipated. It allowed us to take a break from our hectic schedules and spend quality time with one another, which is equally crucial for our mental and emotional health. We are grateful to our beloved Pastor Rev. Jessie Ranjan for thinking ahead and planning this retreat and holiday outside of Bangaluru.
The mind-blowing artwork on the walls and roofing of St. Aloysius Church on the educational site made the visit there extraordinary. The museum was particularly interesting to visit since it displayed an earlier way of life where people performed tasks like cooking, fishing, and construction with simple tools.
We participated in the devotion that was held in the seminar room. We were led in the devotion by Rev. Jessie Ranjan. Rev. Ivaleen Ammanna, Rev.Sr. Sukumari Jathanna, and Mrs. Patricia Job were three competent woman speakers. In our Women’s Fellowship meetings, Rev. Ivaleen Ammanna insisted that we learn more about the women characters of the Bible that are rarely spoken or heard in our spiritual meetings. Mrs. Patricia Job talked about biblical women who were gifted in many ways and how they used those gifts to benefit others. She asserted that women’s roles include more than just praying, attending church, and carrying out household chores.
We took the recently launched “Vista Dom” train, which has an open glass view and travels through dense woodland and the Ghat region through Hassan, Sakleshpur, and Shraavana Belagola, returning to Bengaluru. The vista and the sensation of passing through densely vegetated areas while on bridges, near water features that were pouring down as little falls, and otherwise immersed in greenery kept our eyes from being overheated while the train travelled through 56 tunnels. When we finally arrived in Bangaluru at 9.30 p.m. with a heavy heart and bid everyone good night, they went back home only to carry the memories until the next trip. It was undoubtedly a meaningful and enjoyable time with all the sisters, eating, sharing, and joking together that was bonded with Christ’s love for each other.
